What certification includes
- A multi-point inspection covering mechanical, electrical, and appearance items, with anything failing repaired before sale.
- A comprehensive limited warranty on top of whatever factory coverage remains.
- Extended powertrain coverage for engine, transmission, and drivetrain.
- Roadside assistance and a vehicle history report.
Ford updates program terms from time to time, so I will give you the current coverage in writing on the specific vehicle. The live certified list is on leonardtownford.com.
When certification is worth it
If you plan to keep the vehicle several years, finance it over a longer term, or just want to stop thinking about repair bills, certification usually earns its price. If you are buying a cheap commuter you will replace in two years, it may not. I will show you the certified and non-certified option side by side so the decision is yours.
What is not certified
Trade-ins from other makes, higher-mileage trucks, and older vehicles are sold as regular pre-owned. They are still inspected and still backed by the dealership, and I will tell you what warranty options exist on each one.
